Important tip: Please do not pay retail for these art supplies! AMAZON.COM is usually the least expensive. Materials may be also purchased at Green’s in Rochester MI (small discount)  or Dick Blick. These supplies will not be required until January 15th, 2020, so please save money by buying these supplies online. Thank you!

1. Textbook: The Encyclopedia of Calligraphy Techniques, by Diana Hardy Wilson.
2. Colored pencils
3. binder + . plastic sleeves, (keep this with you at all times to record your process)
4. #2 pencils with erasers
5. Eraser (Magic Rub or Staedtler Mars White Plastic)
6. Hand-held pencil sharpener
7. pad of grid paper + tracing paper
8. Pilot Parallel Pen, size 3.8mm
9. Pilot Parallel Pens refill six pack of cartridges, black ink as needed (purchase with your parallel pen. )
10. Tombow Calligraphy Brush Pens (3)
11. Metal or plastic T-square, or wooden with an acrylic edge, or CLEAR plastic Ruler at least 18” long
12. Tackle Box for pens and art supplies
13. Drafting tape or painters tape
14. 50 sheets of practice paper, 32 lbs *( 8.5x 11)

The Parallel Pen is a fountain pen that uses ink cartridges, meaning that you won’t have to worry about dipping your pen in ink every couple of strokes – allowing you to focus entirely on learning the basics of a script. 

Besides that, the parallel pen is super simple to use, and it’s ready as soon as you take it out of the box.
